Elephant Freedom Project provides unique tours that allow guests to learn about Elephant care and assist the Elephant handlers in their daily tasks. The Elephant Freedom Project, a well-established Elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand, is proud to offer a unique and ethical Elephant tourism experience for visitors to the region. The project allows guests to spend a day in these majestic creatures’ natural environment without using chains, hooks, or riding.

Guests can interact with the Elephants, feed them, and learn about their behavior and habits. They can also learn about the Elephant Freedom Project’s conservation efforts to protect these magnificent animals. The project is based on the principle that Elephants should be treated with respect and dignity and that tourism should be ethical and sustainable.

“While on a recent trip from Bangkok, we spent a day at the Elephant sanctuary Chiangmai at the Elephant Freedom Project. What a wonderful experience our family had. The staff was great, the transportation and tour were all very well organized, and we had a splendid time interacting with the Elephants. A well-deserved five-star recommendation.” said Henry P.

“Best Elephant rescue site I’ve visited. Our guide Pan was fun, friendly, and full of information. His love for the Elephants was clear – especially his baby ‘sister.’  They treat the Elephants kindly. We did the full day, and it was well worth it, so much interaction with the Elephants. During the walk down to the river, they truly just wander wherever they like, and you go along with them. Then splashing around together at bath time was magical. 10/10 recommend.” said Megan F.
