Longhorn Village has released an online financial calculator to help older adults select the senior living community floor plan best suited for their budget. The tool’s name is Floorcaster. It operates confidentially, assessing income and assets to determine which floor plan will fit.

Finding affordable floor plans alleviates seniors’ concerns over costs and inspires confidence for them and their families. The floorplan tool collects basic financial information in four simple steps.

First, the Floorcaster tool asks for basic household information, Will there be one resident or two, and what age will each resident be at move-in?

Second, the tool collects annual income information, and a drop-down menu of income ranges is provided. Floorcaster also offers assistance for income calculation. When the “Help me calculate” button is selected, a drop-down menu of income categories appears. After financial information is added to each category, the calculator automatically produces an annual income total.

The third step asks for a total net worth. The amount can be entered directly, or another “Help me calculate” button can be selected, which will offer asset categories to be filled in individually. Floorcaster will combine the totals from all these categories to reach a total net worth.

Finally, with all the information entered, Floorcaster runs computations that result in a list of floor plans that fit a budget defined by the financial information provided. The person using the Floorcaster can enter their name and email address to receive the floor plans. The plans are also linked for immediate review.

Financial information collected by the Floorcaster tool is confidential and will not be disclosed without the applicant’s consent.

Longhorn Village offers numerous floor plans, including Ransom Villa, Brackenridge, Tejas, Jester, Sinclair, Hart, Gregory, Faulk-1, Vinson, Mezes, and Dobie. The costs for each are determined by square footage, but the Floorcaster tools simplify the selection process by identifying which floor plans align with a future resident’s finances.

In addition to making the online calculator freely available, the Longhorn Village marketing staff assists older adults and their families directly, answering questions, providing resources, and offering counsel and guidance in the senior living search process.
