July 27 18:58 2022
Now Seeking Community Support via Kickstarter, This Exhibition is an Image of Mexican Folklore & Honors those Who are No Longer Here!

Jessica Esquivias is an internationally recognized Mexican creative artist, producer, cultural manager, and the founder and creator of Mega Procession of the Catrinas in Mexico. She has been working for the Catrinas for the last 8 years in Mexico and just before the pandemic in 2019, the parade exceeded 180,000 attendees. Moreover, she has supported more than 500 makeup artists, who embody Catrina on the faces of thousands of people.

Jessica has empowered the image of Catrinas by giving a new artistic and socio-cultural vision to this Mexican folklore tradition. This year, she has proudly announced to launch a Mega Catrinas Photographic Exhibition and she is raising funds and support for this project via Kickstarter.

“As the pandemic arrived and the peak of a massive strike celebration, we decided to transmute the Mega Procession and pay tribute to all those who have lost the battle against this virus and to all the heroes and heroines who, despite the pandemic, never stopped working.” Said Jessica Esquivias, while introducing this project to the Kickstarter community.

Mega Catrinas is a unique exhibition of its kind, with a change of perspective on catrinas and catrines and this exhibition deals with living Catrinas and Catrines, actors of daily life, fighters and heroes without capes. The artist believes that this exhibition and the mega procession is also a unique way of sending a message to the entire world.

The Kickstarter Campaign is located on the web at: and backers from around the world can become a part of this project by making generous pledges and donations. Moreover, the goal of this Kickstarter campaign is to raise a sum of MX$ 422,300 and Jessica is offering a wide range of rewards for the backers with worldwide shipping.  Furthermore, more details are available on the Kickstarter campaign page of the project.
