London, United Kingdom – January 20, 2020 – New Year’s resolutions tend to be about embarking on a new fitness regime or starting a new diet, but Brian Johnson, owner of East London Printers, wants people to make 2020 the year they embrace their creativity and skill and make the move from hobbyist to professional.

For years. custom garment printing has been well known amongst corporations and sports teams as an easy way to differentiate their team and their brand, explains Johnson “Generally, people come to us to have custom t-shirts or football kits branded. We add numbers, names and logos to their uniforms and their kit bags, but we have so many options in our store and online for individuals to show off their creativity.”

“Social media is everywhere and it’s all about showing off your style and your skills. So many people are missing out on the opportunity to build a brand and a style out of their personal social media accounts. The UK is filled with people who have these incredible skills and creativity and who really should be making a name for themselves,” says Johnson “The Instagram home baker who needs a unique apron, the travel guru whose backpack is seen in each photo and at every destination around the world, but that looks that same as everyone else’s backpack; a personal design or mantra would go a long way to differentiate those social media accounts. Imagine what the urban fashionista could do with a series of custom printed converse sneakers with their own design or lyrics! There’s also the opportunity to capitalize on that personal brand and start selling those items that are uniquely designed,” explains Johnson.

Years ago, custom printing was done on a very limited number of clothing items like baseball caps and t-shirts and the quality of those garments wasn’t always the best. All that has changed. “Custom printing is now available on organic, sustainable fabrics like Egyptian cotton as well as clothing from top rated brands like Adidas and Calloway.” Johnson is excited as he imagines what kind of custom printing projects might come into his store this year. “I can’t wait to see what people come up with!”
